The growth and development of the teeth and jaw bones is a complex process. Although not all children require orthodontic treatment before they are teenagers, it is very important that they are regularly monitored by an orthodontist to ensure that all potential issues are identified.
All children should see an orthodontist by the age of 7. Here at Impact Orthodontics, the vast majority of our ‘under 10’ crowd are put into our completely FREE growth and development monitoring program. Quick check-ups every 6-12 months (depending on the tooth and jaw situation) are completed with one of our orthodontists to evaluate that everything is growing normally and to identify any issues that may need to be addressed before all of the grown-up teeth are in.
The great thing about this program is that you, the parents, will have many opportunities to speak to an orthodontic specialist about your child’s teeth, smile and bite before any treatment will commence. You will be well informed of the perfect timing for treatment, should it be required, and you will know all costs ahead of time so that you can plan insurance and/or HSA’s accordingly.
